What Puts You At Risk for More Cavities?
Posted on 10/27/2017 by Sean Saghatchi
Cavities can be caused by many different things. This is why it is important to speak with a dentist about the best dental hygiene that you could possibly have.
When it comes to having something that is not only going to reduce the cavities, but also help you have better oral hygiene, you shouldn't have a problem. Make sure that they're providing you with everything you need and more.
Reduce the Risks of Cavities with These Tips
Cavities come about because of those sugary things that you eat, so by using these tips, you can reduce the chances of having even more cavities when the time comes. Make sure that you use them as much as possible to reduce the trips you take to the dentist.
Eat less sugary foods, but if you do then make sure to brush or rinse your mouth out after you do.
Brush twice a day, two minutes each time. Brush the proper way and make sure to reach all of the teeth in your mouth.
Flossing is a great tool to fight cavities. Doing so can not only reduce cavities, but it can also make your gums healthier.
Drink coffee and sugary drinks through a straw. Cow's milk can also ruin the enamel on your teeth, so it is important that a straw is used. Again, rinse your mouth out after drinking with water if you cannot brush.
Fruit and other acidic foods can wear down enamel and cause further cavities. It is important to rinse your mouth out or brush after eating fruits such as strawberries.
Speak with our office today to schedule a cleaning or to speak about your oral health. It is important to have cleanings and exams done every six months for a happier, healthier smile overall.
